Anthony “Antney Bert” Charles, 63, of Freeburn, KY, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
He was born March 23, 1952 in Phelps, KY, a son of the late Arthur Blaine “Bug” Charles Jr. & Lula Faye Smith Charles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Shirley Jean Justice.
Anthony was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed fishing and hanging out in Delorme with his buddies. In earlier years, he liked to spend time at the Fountain Drive-In in Freeburn.
Survivors include his son: Kevin Stump of Freeburn, KY; daughter: Tabitha Hopkins of Grapevine, KY; four brothers: Herbert Blaine Charles of Clay City, KY, Kenneth Ray (Josie) Charles of Kimper, KY, Robert E. Lee (Connie) Charles of Columbus, OH, John Paul Charles of Pikeville, KY; four sisters: Mary Ann Dotson of Braxton Co, WV, Phoebe Leedy of Kimper, KY, Bessie (Dwayne) Nelson of Pinsonfork, KY, Oma (Marvin) Bentley of Phelps, KY; uncle: Bert (Irene) Smith of Blackberry, KY; aunt: Vernie Dotson of Thacker, WV; and very special people: Rose Dotson and her family, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Freeburn Free Pentecostal Church with Reverend Kenny Chapman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Charles Family Cemetery at Phelps, KY.
Visitation will begin 6:00 P.M. Sunday & Monday at the church with special services nightly at 7:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
