Betty Lou McClellan Dotson

Betty Lou McClellan Dotson, 64, of Kimper, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1950 at Logan, WV to the late Ozle and Josephine Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: William McClellan and her stepson: Ron McClellan. 
Betty was a former cook for the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center and a member of the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church where she loved to sing and was involved with the YPE Youth Group. Church, family and singing brought much happiness to her life. 
Survivors include her husband: Bradley Dotson of Kimper, KY; one daughter: Marlena (James) Preece of Thomasville, NC; stepdaughters: Rheba McClellan & Pat (John) Camel, both of Lexington, KY; daughter-in-law: Wanda McClellan of Lawrenceburg, KY; one brother: Terry (April) Thomas of Logan, WV; four sisters: Janice (Butch) Borth of Whitman, WV, Karen (Danny) Hatfield of Gilbert, WV, Lois (Roger) Nelson & Teresa Walls, both of Switzer, WV; three grandchildren: Ashley Preece of Thomasville, NC, Kayla (Jay) Allen of Lakenheath England & Shane Allen McClellan of Lawrenceburg, KY. Betty is also survived by her church family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church with Reverands Benny Freeman and Joaquine Ooten officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill, WV.
Visitaion will begin at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the church with services Friday night at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY
