Billie Jean (Robinette) New

Billie Jean New, 67, of Freeburn, KY, passed away April 22, 2016 at her residence.  Born July 6, 1948 in Jamboree, KY, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Nettie Moore Robinette.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Sandy Layne and Sue Justice.

Billie enjoyed reading and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include two sons: Michael (Cinda) Blankenship and Leon (Elaine) Blankenship, both of Stopover, KY; four daughters: Cindy (Tim) Messer of Georgetown, KY, Vicki (Randy) Wood of Vulcan, WV, Lucy (William) Ray of Stopover, KY, Robin (Jamie) Thacker, of Pikeville, KY; one brother: Roy (Peggy) Robinette of Kimper, KY; special friend: Diane Banks; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.   

A message from Billie Jean: “To My Kids, the only thing you take with you is what you leave behind. And I leave behind my most precious gift to the world; my kids and grandkids. Love you all.”

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Church of God in Jesus' Name, Phelps, KY with Reverends Opie Harris, Harold Layne, and Benny Freeman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Dotson Cemetery, Beech Creek, Phelps, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Sunday with special services at 7:00 P.M.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
