Cornetta Thompson

Cornetta Thompson, 81, of Freeburn KY, left this world on August 5th to return to her Heavenly Father. Beloved mother, grandmother & granny. She enjoyed taking care of her home, reminiscing, talking with family & friends especially her neighbor Danny. Growing up on Barrenshee, she never met a stranger. She will always be remembered for her smile, laugh and the pure enjoyment she got from others.

Cornetta was born February 9, 1936 at Freeburn, a daughter of the late Thurman & Josephine Chapman Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Paul James McClanahan, Gary McClanahan, & Homer “Bull” Thompson.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include one daughter: Nyoka Dotson of Freeburn, KY; one sister: Mary Chapman of Norwood, OH; one granddaughter: Sandra Reed of Freeburn; two grandchildren: Ashton & Josie Reed of Freeburn; and a special friend & neighbor: Danny Martin Dotson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Freeburn Free Pentecostal Church with Reverend Kenny Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapman Cemetery, Barrenshee, Freeburn, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church with special services at 7:00 P.M.
