Daniel Jordan “D.J.” Dillon, 22, of Sidney, KY, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Sidney, KY. Born July 24, 1995 in Williamson, WV, he was a son of Daniel Thomas and Kimberly G. “Varney” Dillon. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Daniel Clay Dillon & William “Jay” Varney.


D.J. was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Big Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a former factory worker for Menzner Hardwoods of Somerset, KY. D.J. played football for Bevins Elementary and Belfry Middle School. One of his coaches once said, “If I had a few more like him, we could win some games!” He was a wonderful dad, and an all-around country boy who enjoyed riding four wheelers & dirt bikes with his friends. D.J. also enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering on motors, digging ginseng, and going horseback riding. All who knew him said he had a wonderful sense of humor.


Those left to cherish his memory include his parents: Daniel Thomas and Kimberly G. “Varney” Dillon of Pine Knot, KY; two sons: Daniel Clay Dillon & Bradon Honaker; two daughters: Kazlynn and Gracelynn Dillon; one brother: Justen (Kristen) Slone of Pine Knot, KY; one sister: Shyla Dillon of Pine Knot, KY; paternal grandmother: Jennifer Dillon (Terry) Waddell of Raccoon, KY; maternal grandmother: Toy Mae Varney of Piketon, OH; godparents: Phil & Margaret Royce of Sidney, KY; one nephew: Connor Slone; one niece: Nayome Jones; two uncles: Matthew (Erica) Dillon of Raccoon, KY; Andrew (Bridget) Dillon of Pikeville, KY; four aunts: Toyetta Daniels (Lee Skeens) of Sidney, KY; Karena Blevins of Piketon, OH; Mollie (Chad ) Smith & Amanda Craig of Meta, KY; and a host of cousins, family & friends to mourn his loss.


Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at New Beginning Church of God, Sidney, KY, with Reverends Mike Smith, Gary Young, Eric Hubbard, John Victor McCoy, and Richard Staten officiating.


Burial will follow in the Royce Family Cemetery, Dix Fork, Sidney, KY.


Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Friday & Saturday at the church with services nightly at 7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in D.J.'s memory may be made directly to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
