Doris Ann (Ragonesi) Adams

Doris Ann Adams, 63, of Thacker, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

She was born September 1, 1951 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Clifford and Louise Ragonesi Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jessie James “Gabe” Adams Sr. and two brothers: Tommy & Junior Bateman.

Doris loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were her world. She enjoyed many hobbies such as crochet and fishing, and loved to plant flowers. Doris was kindhearted and always willing to help anyone.

Survivors include her companion: Grover “G.C.” Snell of Thacker, WV;  two sons: Jessie James Adams Jr. (B. J. Warrix) & Eugene Dean (Marie) Adams, both of Jamboree, KY; two daughters: Sherry Denise Adams (Matt McCoy) of Thacker, WV & Shelia Brizendine of Phelps, KY; three brothers: Mark (Jodee) Johnson of Wisconsin, Jimmy (Carol) Johnson of Hurricane, WV, Jody Ray Johnson of Charleston, WV; six sisters: Eleanor Ruth (Billy Ray) Daugherty of Bean Station, TN, JoAnn Bentley of Newport, TN, Tammie Miller (Jason) Kyker of White Pine, TN, Charlotte (Mike) Hurley of Jamboree, KY, Vanessa (Don) Weiland,  Kathy (Danny) Fink, both of Charleston, WV; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Courtney) Maynard of Georgetown, KY, Michael Brizendine (Tammy Duty) of Georgetown, KY, Brandon Brizendine, Jessica Adams, Dakota Adams, and Savannah Adams, all of Phelps, KY, Dustin Gage Maynard of Thacker, WV; three great-grandchildren: Mikila Brizendine of Georgetown, KY, Kentlie Smith of Majestic, KY, Carson Maynard of Georgetown, KY; her dogs: Penny and Shiloh and a host of nieces, nephews, friends & family to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, KY with Reverend Larry Rife officiating.

Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery, Lynn, WV, with Matt McCoy, Matthew Maynard, Mike Lester, Dakota Adams, Mikey Brizendine, Johnathan Stiltner, Dustin Maynard, and B.J. Hamilton serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home chapel from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
