Earl Lester, 78, of Stopover, KY, passed away July 8, 2015 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born May 17, 1937 in Jamboree, KY to the late McKinley and Ivery Blankenship Lester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: Roosevelt Lester.
Earl was a retired coal miner and of the Pentecostal faith. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Earl was a very kind hearted man who would do anything he could to help someone.
Survivors include his wife: Lula Pearl Layne Lester of Stopover, KY; two sons: Chester (Genette) Lester of Pounding Mill, KY, Ronald (Hattie) Lester of Stopover, KY; one daughter: Trula (Michael) Fortney of Galion, OH; three brothers: Arthar (Sophie) Lester of Freemont, OH, Marvin (Shirley) Lester of Columbus, OH, Homer (Mary Lou) Lester of Jamboree; four sisters: Ruby (Charlie) Cantrell of VA, Millie Lester of Boardtree, Maggie Thompson of Vansant, VA, Jean Workman of GA; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
In honor of Earl’s wishes, he will be cremated & no services will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
