Ervin Coleman

Ervin Coleman Sr, 79, of Phelps KY, entered into rest Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center, Phelps, KY.  He was born April 25, 1937 in Blackey, VA, a son of the late Lon Coleman and Polly Coleman Dye.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Alvin & George Coleman; one sister: Gerldine Ward; and one grandson: Barry Jonathan Coleman.

Ervin was retired from General Motors.  His first priority was his children.  He enjoyed visiting his neighbors and everyone who met him loved him.  Ervin will be sadly missed by his family & friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years: Pearl Coleman of Phelps, KY; two sons: Ervin Coleman Jr., Barry (Paula Marie) Coleman of Phelps, KY; one daughter: Beverley (Johnny) Hurley of Phelps, KY; two brothers: Earl (Agatha) Coleman of Athens, OH, James (Faye) Coleman of Columbus, OH; one sister: Inez Lambert of Warren, MI; three grandchildren: Tiffany Shea (Jonathan) Hamilton, Adam Hurley, Brittany Yvonne (Heath) Marcum; four great-grandchildren: Mason Alexander Marcum, Kynah Maelynn Hurley, Indiana Jacob Hamilton, London Juliette Hamilton; good friend: Monty (Robin) Blankenship of Red Bush, KY; as well as a host nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 17, 2017 in the chapel of Jones & West Funeral Home, Phelps, KY with Reverend Benny Freeman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Slone Cemetery, KBC Hollow, Phelps, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
