Evelyn W. (Wolford) Blankenship

Evelyn W. Blankenship, 76, of Stopover, KY, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Pikeville Medical Center. 

She was born November 1, 1939 in Stopover, KY, a daughter of the late J.C. & Olga Sansom Wolford.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Tommy Blankenship; one son: Mack Jr. “Mackey” Blankenship; five brothers: Sonny, Gene, Jackie, Roscoe, & Carl “Bud” Wolford; and two sisters: Mildred Hurley & Betty Daniels.

Evelyn was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith.  She was a game show enthusiast, an excellent cook, and loved working on crafts.  Evelyn was all about family & was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister & friend.

Survivors include one son: Donald Gene (Marie) Blankenship of Stopover, KY; one brother: Pete Wolford of Majestic, KY; two sisters: Geneva Cochran of Stopover, KY, Connie Blankenship of Michigan; four grandchildren: Justin (Stacy) Blankenship of Stopover, KY, Hunter, Laykyn, & Kyra Blankenship of Dandridge, TN; two great grandchildren: Keaton & Isabella Blankenship of Stopover, and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverend Kelley Baldridge officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hurley-Wolford Cemetery at Stopover, KY with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. 

There will be no visitation on Thursday so that family & friends may spend time with their loved ones on Thanksgiving.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
