Welcome to the memorial page for

Hulen Everett Robinett

November 5, 1926 ~ April 4, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Hulen Everett Robinett, 90, of Stopover, KY, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his residence.  He was born November 5, 1926, in Stopover, a son of the late William Jesse & Hettie Lester Robinett.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Huby Dean Robinette; one brother: L.C. Robinett; three sisters: Iva Murphy, Della Wine, & Ella Pugh.

Hulen Everett Robinett is a man truly worthy of our remembrance.  He was a man of a child like faith in Jesus Christ.  He had complete assurance of where he was going when his time with us came to an end.  He often spoke of Heaven, and looked so forward to seeing his loved ones that had passed before him.  He continually insisted that everyone he would be leaving behind make their reservations with our Lord, so that he could hug our necks again someday.

Humble, Sincere, Strong, and Honest are a few words that describe Hulen. He enjoyed training ponies and horses in his younger years. It made him feel good to know he was one of the best at this skill. He had a tremendous work ethic and was diverse in his labors: ranging from his service in the US Navy to hauling coal from the mountain tops. He kept a quality garden year after year, and he would gladly cook you something fresh out of it. If you sat down just to listen, he could get you so lost in his stories that you could lose the need for a library.

Hulen, your husband, our Dad, our Pa(paw), our school bus driver, our family, our friend...was the definition of selfless love.  His love began with Juanita, his beautiful red-headed wife.  He was deeply in love, eager to share the story of the first time he laid eyes on her.  So many times, you could catch him just staring at her with a smile.  He was so proud of the family they created together.

He loved his children and his grandchildren beyond measure.  He lived each and every day for us.  Hulen cherished every single visit and every single phone call we shared with him.  At the end of each, he reminded us that we were welcome back anytime.  He loved us so much while wanting nothing in return.  He wanted to work day and night to provide for us, he enjoyed cooking that cornbread for us, he demanded that HE babysit us.  He wanted to help us in time of need.  As we celebrate Hulen and reflect on the memories we shared together...Hulen would undoubtedly leave us with a final "I love you with all my heart."...how much? "ALL my heart."

It was a great honor to know, love, and to be loved by you Hulen Everett Robinett.  As we lay you to rest, we will love and remember you for the rest of our lives.  We can't ever replace you.  We will miss you. We will see you again someday.  We love you with all of our heart too.

Hulen is survived by his wife: Jaunita “Estep” Robinett.  They were married on May 30, 1949.  He is also survived by one son: Hulen Gene Robinette of New Delhi, India; four daughters: Hulita Gail (William) Blankenship of Freeburn, KY, Hulena Diane (Grover) Blankenship of Bucyrus, OH; Huvita Kay (Harold) Campbell of Georgetown, KY; Huletha Juanita (James) Smith of Phelps, KY; fifteen grandchildren: Kirby, Kristi, Michael, Kevin, Keith, Taletha, Braxton, Brennan, Timmy, Jordan, Da’Von, LaQuan, Tyeisha, Daeisha, & Antuan; twenty two Great Grandchildren; one Great-Great Grandchild; and a host of extended family & special loved ones including the Sam Simon family of India & the Muana family of Burma.
