Irene Dotson Maynard, 73, of Phelps, KY, formerly of Majestic passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center in Phelps.
She was born February 22, 1941 in Pike County, KY, a daughter of the late Joe & Elva Dotson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Sidney "Hoover" Maynard; one son: Glen Ronnie Stevens and two brothers: Avery & Ervin Dotson.
Irene was a homemaker and attended the Stopover Church of God.
Survivors include three sons: Truman (Lydia) Maynard of Majestic, KY, Terry & Kelly Stevens, both of western Kentucky; one daughter: Elizabeth Dotson Stroth of Illinois; one brother: Glen Dotson of Indiana; two sisters: Joyce Maynard of Jamboree, KY, Karen Wolford Mullins of Louisville, KY; uncles: Thurman Dotson of Mt. Sterling, KY, Jim Dotson of Illinois; a very special friend: Gail Blankenship of Freeburn, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Stopover Church of God with Rev. Harold Layne officiating. Burial will follow in the Billy Dotson Cemetery at Boardtree.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Friday at the church with services at 7:00 P.M.
