Joe Ray, 41, of Stopover, KY, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY.
He was born September 3, 1973 in Williamson West Virginia and was the son of Verline Blankenship Ray of Stopover, KY and the late Bill Ray.
Joe was a kid at heart. He loved his mommy and enjoyed watching movies & listening to music. His favorite television show was the Dukes of Hazzard and he loved WWE wrestling. Joe was of the Christian faith & would always say, “God watches us all the time, even when we’re asleep.”
Survivors include his mother: Verline Ray of Stopover, KY; two brothers: William (Lucy) Ray & Gary Ray, both of Stopover; three sisters: Shelia (Steve) Presley of Indiana, Doris (Randy) Stiltner of Kimper, KY, Billie Jean Hackney of Phelps, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Jones and West Funeral Home chapel with Reverends Larry Rife & Odis Blankenship officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ray Family Cemetery at Hurricane Cr, Stopover, KY with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
