John Henry Casey, 61, of Matewan, WV, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born May 1, 1953 in Phelps, KY, to the late Man and Rittie Casey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Shirley “Wolford” Casey and two sisters: Laura & Ruby Wolford.
John was a disabled coal miner, avid knife collector and was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include two daughters: Tammy Wolford of Phelps, KY & Tina Casey of Hurley, VA; three brothers: Carl (Betty) Casey, Willard Casey & Robert (Princie) Casey all of Phelps, KY; eight grandchildren: Kendra Hamilton, Kenny Hamilton, Amanda Casey, Tracy Wolford, Bobby Lester (Melissa Avina), Nathan Casey & Christopher Casey; three Great- Grandchildren: Christopher Blayke Casey, Preston Blayne Casey & Isabella Faith Casey.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday March 1, 2015 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Rev. Odis Blankenship officiating.
Burial will follow in the Wolford Cemetery, KBC Hollow, Phelps, KY.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home with special services Saturday at 7:00 P.M
