Joyce A. Casey, 65, of Phelps, KY, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 22, 2015 at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born on August 29, 1949 in Freeburn, KY, she was the daughter of the late Thelma Mae and James Lambert.
Joyce was retired from Matewan Middle School where she taught Special Education for several years. Joyce loved teaching and cherished each and every one of her students. She was also a Master Beautician. She loved the Lord, and was of the Apostolic faith.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years: Shorty Casey of Phelps, KY; one son: Timothy “Timbo” (Linda) Casey of Phelps; two brothers: Neal (Pam) Lambert of Freeburn, KY and Donald (Charlotte) Lambert of Ohio; sisters: Donna “Mickey” (Clyde) Fields, Shay (Donnie) Dotson & Bonnie (Jimmy) Coleman, all of Freeburn, KY, Rose (Dan) Patierno of Johns Creek, KY, Sue (Billy) Beardon of Mississippi, and Annette Abernathy of Indiana; two granddaughters: Kita and Kimberly Casey of Phelps, KY, whom she loved very much, along with a host of nieces and nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Jones & West Funeral home with Reverend Richard McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Family Cemetery Smith Fork, Phelps, KY. Friends & Family will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home with services nightly at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY. The guestbook may be signed at www.joneswestfh.com.
