Kathy Smith Casey, 48, of Phelps, KY, departed this life Monday, August 24, 2015 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
She was born June 17, 1967 in Williamson, WV, a daughter of Floyd Smith of Phelps, KY and the late Geraldine Smith.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother: Adam Smith; first husband: Chris Sanson; and second husband: Willis Casey.
Kathy was homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist Faith. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing & doing yard work. She was also an avid fan of U.K. Basketball.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include one son: Christopher Sanson of Richmond, KY; two daughters: Samantha & Haley Casey, both of Marrowbone, KY; four brothers: Everett Smith of Ransom, KY, James (Huletha) Smith of Widows, Br., Phelps, KY, Ricky Smith of Phelps, and T.A. (Terri) Smith of Matthews, NC; four sisters: Georgia (Dallas) Smith of Phelps, Vivian Smith of Phelps, Margarett Smith of Marrowbone, Marcy (Dwayne) Yates of Sidney, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews & friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Stump Cemetery, Smith Fork of Phelps.
Visitation will take place 6:00 – 10:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home with special services 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Dwayne Yates.
