Louise Layne, 86, of Galion, died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Galion Community Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
Louise was born in Cardington, on March 14, 1931 to the late Harold L. and Helen J. (Zack) Shadley. She married Tracy Layne on April 17, 1981 and he survives her.
Louise lived in the area most of her life. She was employed by North Electric, Galion as a secretary and also worked in the shipping department until her retirement in l988. Louise loved gardening and her flowers. She enjoyed traveling, crafting and attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by her children, Teresa and Ken Catlett, of Galion, Michael and Trula Fortney, of Galion, Sandy and Rick Frey, of Ashville, Lynn See, of Galion, Carol and Ron Shumate, of Crestline, Ken and Diane Fortney, of Bucyrus, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, her brother, Ralph and Shirley Shadley, of Lakeland, Florida, and her sisters, Joanne and Dale Stover, of Dade City, Florida, and Georgia Scheidler, of Galion.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Eichhorn, son-in-law, Larry See and her sister, Phyllis Staus.
Burial will be in Prater Cemetery, Phelps, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps.
