Rose Marie “Wells” Blankenship, 48, of Stopover, KY, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born March 6, 1968 in South Williamson, KY, a daughter of the late Joe Jr. & Joyce “Thompson” Wells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: David “Bug” Wells & Jerry Pete Wells.
Marie was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She loved spending her summers camping at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, her “Home away from home.” as she called it. Marie was a devoted wife & mother and was the best sister & mother-in-law anyone could have. She was a special person who was loved by everyone.
Survivors include her husband: Donald Gene Blankenship; two daughters: Courtney (Bobby) Gobble of Moyock, NC, Hallie Meek of Stopover, KY; two step-sons: Justin (Stacy) Blankenship of Stopover, KY, Hunter Blankenship of TN; and two stepdaughters: Laykyn & Kyra Blankenship of TN. Marie was the proud grandmother of: Robert Gobble of Stone, KY & Kinley Marie Gobble of Moyock, NC; a loving sister to: Vicki (Paul) Edwards of Phelps, KY & Beverly (Eddie) Stickler of Prestonsburg, KY. She is also survived by two special nieces: Brittany (BJ) Clark of Naugatuck, WV, Tiffany Murphy of Columbus, OH; and a host of very special nephews, nieces, family & friends to mourn her passing.
A gathering of Marie’s family & friends will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Faith Tabernacle Church, Majestic, KY, with an invocation by Reverend Charles Meek.
