Mary Jean (Sellards) McCoy

Mary Jean “Sellards” McCoy, 48, of McAndrews, KY, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  She was born May 19, 1969 in McDowell County, WV, a daughter of the late George Dallas & Betty Jean “Scarberry” Sellards.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Tabitha McCoy.

Mary worked as an assistant manager for Hardee’s Restaurant in South Williamson, KY for twenty years, and had also been employed by Trinity Health Care Services of Williamson, WV.  Mary enjoyed crocheting and was the best cook this side of the Mississippi.  Her life revolved around her children & grandchildren. 

Mary is survived by her husband of 18 years: George T. McCoy of McAndrews.  They were married May 16, 1999.  She is also survived by one son: Ruley (Destiny) Adkins of Burnwell, KY; one daughter: Mary Goodman of McAndrews, KY; five sisters: Dulley (Charlie) Dingess of South Willamson, KY, Georgia (Greg) Robinson of Ballfork, KY, Becky (Bobby) Amburn of Stone, KY, Betty (Fred) McLemore of Sidney, KY, Dorothy West of Stone, KY; five grandchildren: Dyna, Ona, Lanie, Denzel, & Elliott; a special brother-in-law: Darrell McCoy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 2, 2017 at the McVeigh United Pentecostal Church with Reverends: Joseph Crum & DeWayne Chapman officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Henry Taylor Cemetery at Brushy.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday at the church with special services Thursday at 7:00 P.M.
