Molly Dotson Daugherty, 89, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Tug Valley Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.
She was born February 18, 1928 in Jamboree, KY, a daughter of the late Boyd & Louisa “Coleman” Dotson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ervin Daugherty; two sons: Garry Ervin Daugherty & Jimmy Lee Daugherty; as well as several brothers & sisters.
Molly was a member of the Jamboree Church of God and was the owner & operator of Molly’s Restaurant in Phelps, next to the old Phelps High School, for several years. She was also a former factory worker in Ohio. She liked gardening and canning, enjoyed sewing, and was a good quilt maker. Molly was a good cook and made the chili for the church hotdog sales.
Survivors include one daughter: Brenda Gail (Michael) Freeman of Fairview, TN; one brother Herman (Alice) Dotson of Cave Run, KY; daughters-in-law: Bonnie Daugherty of Cynthiana, KY, Linda Daugherty of Nicholasville, KY; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Jones & West Funeral Home, Phelps, KY.
Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY .
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the funeral home chapel.
