Patricia (Smith) Chapman

Patricia Chapman 65, of Phyllis, KY, formerly of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away after a prolonged illness on Monday, August 10, 2015 at her residence.

She was born on August 23, 1949 in Pike County, KY to the late Charlie and Girtie (Williamson) Smith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ivan Chapman.  

Patricia was a professional packer of fragile items for a moving company in Michigan.  She dearly loved animals and was a member of the Humane Society. She had a special bond with her pets.  Her hobbies included making pottery sculptures and painting them by hand.  She was also a devout Christian and an avid Angel collector.  Patricia was the kind of person who would help anyone.  She took in friends who were homeless and had nobody to care for them.

Patricia is survived by two sisters: Goldie Hunt of Phyllis, KY, Beatrice Cox of Ashland KY; and one brother: Ray Smith of Kimper, KY.  She is also survived by a host of special nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Johns Creek Primitive Baptist Church. 

Burial will follow in the Chapman Family Cemetery, Sunshine Lane, Kimper, KY with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church with a special singing service Thursday at 7:00 P.M.
