Ralph Dotson

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Ralph Dotson, 68, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  He was born March 19, 1949 in Freeburn, KY, a son of the late James Lewis and Eulice Ward Dotson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Jim, Eugene, Herman, Harold, & Charlie Dotson; four sisters: Jesse Ann Childers, Virginia Sue Wolford, Linda Gail & Wanda Lou Dotson; and one grandson: Arlen Dakota Roach.

Ralph was a man of faith and an active member of the Jamboree Church of God.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Ralph was the owner of Dotson’s Air Conditioning & Electrical and helped at his daughter’s business: Bess & Company Inc.  Ralph was a pillar of the community and was always doing things for others.   

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife: Delores Darlene Dotson of Phelps, KY; one son: Ralph Alan (Marcia) Dotson of Leitchfield, KY; three daughters: Shawana Saunders Good of Phelps, KY, Delores Susan Dotson of Sevierville, TN, Addison Raine Dotson of Phelps, KY; two brothers: Marvin (Dorothy) Dotson of VA, Billy Ray Dotson of Ruskin, FL; one sister: Laura (Curtis) Troxell of Palmetto, FL; grandchildren: Isaac Liam, Amber Nicole, Ashley Danielle, & Allie Rose Dotson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Jamboree Church of God with Reverends Larry Blackburn, Marvin Casey, and Willie Gordon officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hurley Family Cemetery, Phelps, KY with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday & Thursday at the Jamboree Church of God with services nightly at 7:00 P.M.
