Randy Blankenship

Randy Blankenship, 60, of Stopover, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center.  He was born September 19, 1957 in Pike County, KY, a son of the late Cloyd & Donna Mae Casey Blankenship.  In addition to his parents, Randy was also preceded in death by his wife: Mary Tammy Justice Blankenship; one brother: Kenneth Blankenship; grandson: Caleb Randall Blankenship; and his dog: Sarge.

Randy was a retired coal miner and  a hard worker at all of his occupations, including his mobile home moving business.  He was of the Church of God faith.  He would help anyone he could with anything.  In his spare time, Randy enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and side by side, and doing mechanic work.  He also enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Tamara, who he loved so much.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter: Lisa (Vestil) Blankenship of Stopover, KY; one step-daughter he considered as his own: Julie (Jim) Tyree of Hindman, KY; one step- son he helped raise: Justin Hurley of Stopover, KY; one brother: Luther Blankenship of Phelps, KY; one sister: Patricia Blankenship of Phelps, KY; one granddaughter: Tamara Blankenship of Stopover, KY; and a host of family & friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Stopover Church of God with reverend Harold Layne officiating.

Burial will follow in the Whispering Hills Cemetery with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Monday at Stopover Church of God with special services at 7:00 P.M.
