Ruby Gail Casey

Ruby Gail Casey, 77, of Phelps, KY, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Phelps. She was born September 10, 1937 in Phelps, KY, a daughter of the late Earl & Grace Marie Dotson Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Kathy Ann Casey Blackburn and one sister: Lossie Jean Miller. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. Ruby loved keeping her family history alive through scrapbooks of pictures, records and notes. She was also an excellent cook who loved to use the recipes & cookware handed down to her from her mother & grandmother. Some of Ruby’s other interests included sewing, writing poetry & keeping journals. She loved providing a warm happy home for her family and always made sure to donate to her favorite charities every year. She had a warm loving heart & showed kindness to everyone. Ruby is survived by her husband: Willis Casey of Phelps, KY; one daughter: Karen Lynn (Dennis) Mills of Phelps; one brother: Earl Jr. (Jeanette) Miller of Jeffersonville, KY; one sister: Ruth Mae (Richard) Waddell of Tazewell, VA; three grandchildren: Christopher Allen Mills of Louisville, KY, Keith Aaron Mills of Phelps and Audrey Lynn Blackburn of Brooklyn, New York; three great grandchildren: Derek Austin Riley of Olive Hill, KY, Sophia Catherine Mills of Louisville, Ayden Keith Mills of Phelps and a host of nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Jones & West Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Tim Dodenhoff & Elder Jimmy Lee Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanders Family Cemetery at Phelps. Friends may call after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the chapel. Special services will be held at 7:00. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
