Sadie (May) Abbott

Sadie Abbott, 77, of Phelps, KY, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at her residence.  She was born January 26, 1940 at McAndrews, KY, a daughter of the late Wid & Lenore May.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Abbott, ten brothers, and two sisters.  

Sadie was a homemaker, and a loving mother & grandmother.  She was of the Freewill Baptist faith.  She gave her life to the Lord two years ago and was baptized by Pastor Larry Rife.  Sadie loved growing flowers and going camping with her family.  She will truly be missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Sandra (Roger) Hunt, Peggy Estep, Debbie (Gary) Duty, Linda (Ralph) Dotson, Sabrina (Mark) Duty, and Brenda (Steven) Mounts, all of Phelps, KY; two brothers: Mayo (Sarah) May of Charlottle, NC, Willis May of New Orleans, LA; one sister: Dolly (Rick) Zappola of Texas; four grandchildren: Christopher Estep, Ray, Kimberly, & Gregory Duty; two great grandchildren: Kenesha Skeens & Katelyn Mounts; special friends: Toby & Kay Abbott; and a host of family & friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverends Larry Rife & Bobby Conn officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Long Fork, Kimper, KY with Steven Mounts, Chris Estep, Mark, Gary, Ray, & Gregory Duty serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with special services Thursday at 7:00 P.M.
