Tommy Dotson

Tommy Dotson, age 80, of Calloway Branch, Phelps, KY, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center.  Born December 5, 1936 in Coleman, KY, he was a son of the late Phillip & Mary Fuller Dotson. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Earl, Harold, Burl, Phillip Jr., & Earnest; sisters: Rena Dotson, Ann McCarter; and two infant siblings: Paul & Imogene. 

Tommy was a former receiving clerk for Persinger Supply Company and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.  He attended the Peter Creek Primitive Baptist Church while his health permitted.  Tommy served in the Army National Guard.   He dearly loved his kids & grandkids.  Tommy also loved working on cars and collecting Hot Wheels.   

Survivors include his wife: Juanita Wagner Dotson of Phelps, KY; one son: Tommy Dotson II of Rogersville, TN; one daughter: Mary (Donnie) Rayburn of Phelps, KY; twin sister: Ethel (Adam) Estep of Pikeville, KY; grandchildren: Nikole Dotson & Jacob Rayburn; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, & family to cherish his memory. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY with Elders Raymond Stanley, Jimmy Lee Smith, Jeff Dotson & others officiating.

Burial will follow in the George Dotson Cemetery, Phelps, KY with friends & nephews serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Sunday & Monday at the funeral home with services nightly at 7:00 P.M. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
