Tonya Jean (Dotson) Mounts

Tonya Jean Mounts, 48, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  She was born April 18, 1969 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Eugene “Monk” & Lena Lee Dotson.  She was preceded in death by one brother: Ricky Dean Lee. 

Tonya was a former teacher’s aide for Phelps Elementary and was a member of the Barnshee Church of God at Freeburn, KY.  Tonya was a loving wife, mother, & daughter. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband: Bobby Mounts of Phelps, KY; parents: Eugene “Monk” & Lena Dotson of Phelps, KY; one daughter: Whitley Leighann Dotson of Stanville, KY; one son: Cory Donovan Justice of Walton, KY; one stepson: Steven Ray (Brenda) Mounts of Phelps, KY; two step grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, and extended family & friends.  Tonya is also survived by her cardiac family at Pikeville Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverends Bobby Dale Wolford & Doug Maynard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mounts Cemetery, Sand Siding, WV.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home with special services nightly at 7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tonya’s memory may be made directly to the funeral home.
