Martha Hazel “Tookie” Layne, 51, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center in Phelps. She was born November 1, 1963 in Williamson, WV, a daughter of the late Claude & Rosie Wolford Roberts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Carl Ray Roberts.
Tookie was Restorative Rehab Technician at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who really enjoyed her grandchildren.
Tookie is survived by her husband: William R. Layne of Phelps, KY; two daughters: Ashley (Jamie) Hatfield of Grassy, KY, Brittany (Edward) Gentry of Phelps, KY; two sisters: Geneva Ferrell of Phelps, KY, Kathy Roberts of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren: Ava & Colton Gentry of Phelps, KY; best friends: Alice Hurley & Tylina Smith of Blackberry, KY, Tamika Samuel of Georgetown, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends left to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Jones & West Funeral Home chapel with Reverends: Robert Coleman & Marty Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Roberts Family Cemetery, Phelps, KY.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:30 P.M. Friday until the time of services.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
