Willie Hardin, 55, of Phelps, KY, passed away July 16, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Willie was born September 19, 1961 in Grundy, VA, a son of the late Frank & Rosie Hurley Hardin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: James Hardin.
Willie was a retired coal miner having worked for Massey Energy for many years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended several churches in the area. Willie had a great sense of humor, enjoyed life, and loved his family and friends.
Survivors include one son: Timothy Paul Hardin of Grundy, VA; one daughter: Jennifer Nicole “Nikki” Hardin of Grundy, VA; three step-children: Payden Ratliff of Phelps, KY, Lexy Coleman of Phelps, KY, Jennifer Rayburn of Phelps, KY; three brothers: Ira Hardin of Hurley, VA, Johnny Hardin of Georgia, Michael Hardin of TN; four sisters: Bernice Hardin of Freeburn, KY, Belva McCracken of Hurley, VA, Mabelene Hardin of Phelps, KY, Elaine Hardin of Richlands, VA; two grandchildren: Matthew Paul Hardin & Michael Paul Hardin of Grundy, VA; also including a host of special family and friends: Jessica Ratliff Hardin, Wanda Adkins, Natasha & Tiffany Blair, Sabrina Adkins, Elizabeth Duty, Brittany Duty, Loretta Duty, Jeremy McCracken, Michelle Roberson, Heath Hardin, Heather Looney, Sherry Hardin, Rodney Hardin, Shannon Blair, Shawn Hardin, Austin Hardin, Elvis (Lucille) Hardin, Amy Hardin, Justin Hardin, Austin Hardin, Susan Hardin, Tanner & Gracie Young Mark Duty, Sabrina Duty, Gregory Duty, Kim, Duty, Brian Duty, Roxie Duty, Earlene Duty; as well as his dog: Daisy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 20th at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverends Danny Hess, Kenny Chapman, & Eddie Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Racefork Cemetery, Hurley, VA with friends & family serving as pallbearerss.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 10:00 P.M. Tuesday & Wednesday at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 P.M. nightly.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Willie’s memory may be made directly to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
