Zachary Dean Avina, 49, of Phelps, KY, entered into rest Monday, March 30, 2015.
He was born April 27, 1965 in Williamson, WV, the son of Marcus Avina and Ella Mae Dotson Paredes.
He was preceded into death by his grandparents who raised him: Ira and Dorothy Dotson.
Zach worked as a coal miner and carpenter and was known as a “jack of all trades”.
Survivors include his mother: Ella Mae Dotson Paredes of Anna, IL; son: Zachary Tyler Avina of Freeburn, KY; daughter: Melissa Dawn Avina of Phelps; step-daughter: Jennifer Rose Daniels of Phelps; wife: Tonya Mechelle Avina; two sisters: Lena Delores Hammerel of Eagle, WV, Jennifer Dawn Wallace of Illinois; uncles who were like brothers to Zack: Ira Jr. Dotson of Cardington, OH, James “Jimmy” Dotson, Franklin Dotson, Johnny Dotson, Donnie Dotson, Delbert Dotson & Adlai Dotson, all of Majestic, KY; aunts: Helen Hall of Stopover, KY & Della Chapp of Sandwich, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Jones & West Funeral Home, Phelps, KY with Reverends: Bruce Hawkins & Johnny Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Buddy Mounts Cemetery, Majestic, KY.
Visitation will begin after 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Special services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 P.M.
