James Sellards

James Sellards, age 89 of Edgarton, WV, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15th, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born June 9th, 1934, at Woodman, KY. He was the son of the late Drew and Vee Sellards. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his stepsons, Roger Prater, and Douglas Sellards, a grandson, Roger Prater Jr. and sisters, Lizzie Blankenship, and Eddie Lee.

James is survived by his loving wife Frankie J. Sellards of Edgarton, W.V.; sons, James Drew Sellards (LeeAnn Cline) of Vulcan, WV and Douglas Sellards of Naugatuck, W.V.; daughters, Barbara Sue (L.C.) Coleman, of Hardy, KY., Myrtle Jean Coleman, McCarr,KY., Tracie Renee (Brian) Robinson of Shelbiana, KY. and Deborah Sellards of Vulcan, W.V.; brothers-in-law, Gary (Robin) Tygart, and Frankie (Bev) Ferrell; special niece, Gloria (Danny) Ferrell; special nephew, Craig Owens; grandsons, William (Christy) Hurley, and Braden Robinson; great granddaughter, Autumn Hurley. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

James enjoyed riding horses, and his four-wheeler. He also liked playing cards with his friends. James was a diligent worker throughout his entire life. He was a dozer operator in the coal mines. He enjoyed taking care of his family and his animals.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday February 20th, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Sellards/Blankenship Cemetery at Woodman, KY.
