Shirley Ann “Rayburn” Blankenship age 61, of Stopover, KY passed away at her residence on February 26th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 5th, 1962, at Majestic, KY, a cherished daughter of the late Carl & Venia “Chapman” Rayburn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her brothers, Sonny & Randy Rayburn, and two sisters, Teresa & Sadina Rayburn.

Shirley was a former LPN at ARH in South Williamson, KY before retiring. She was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed going to Faith Tabernacle Church. Shirley was a very hard worker. She cared for and raised several children and loved them as her own. In her spare time, she had a special passion for her horses. Shirley will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Those surviving to mourn the loss of Shirley include her loving husband, Roy Blankenship of Majestic, KY; sons, Booney (Shannon) Gibson of Tennessee, and Jaxon Blankenship of Stopover, KY, stepson, Roy (Judina) Blankenship of Georgetown, KY, a nephew that she raised as her own, Chase (Natasha) Rayburn of Cynthiana, KY; daughters, Stephanie (Brian) Duty of Freeburn, KY, and Samantha Blankenship of Stopover, Ky; stepdaughter, Beverly (Billy) Dotson of West Liberty, KY; brothers, Carl (Tammy) Rayburn of Cynthiana, KY, Donnie (Mary) Rayburn of Phelps, KY, Ronnie (Tammy) Rayburn of Majestic, KY, and Mark (Jamie) Rayburn of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Alexia Prater, Hawk Gibson, Adam Gibson, Anna Gail Gibson, Kirsten Blankenship, Dalton Blankenship, Gage & Gabe Blankenship, Kevin Sellards, Tiffany & Savannah Lewis, and Corey Dotson; great grandchildren, Jace, Kiana, & Gunner Sellards. Shirley also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to welcome friends for visitation beginning Wednesday, February 28th & 29th, 2024 at the Jones & West Funeral Home from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. with special services each night at 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 1st, 2024 in the chapel with pastors, Harold Layne, Charles Meek, and Mike Dingess officiating.

Interment will conclude at the Blankenship Family Cemetery in Majestic, KY.
