Bob Evans

Robert “Bob” Evans, 81, of Phelps, KY, passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 21st, 2019.  He was born May 4, 1938, in North Matewan, WV to the late Luther & Pauline (Browning) Evans.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Jimmy Lee Evans, Jerry Evans, Larry Evans, Harold Evans, & Bill Evans; three sisters, Josephine Swanner, Edith Evans, & Betty Joe Evans.

Bob was a Veteran of The United States Navy, and a retired boiler operator factory worker.  He attended the Peter Creek Primitive Baptist Church, enjoyed watching NASCAR, and he always cared a lot for his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife: Patty Ann “Coleman” Evans of Phelps, KY; two step sons: Rick (Sondra) Coleman of Phelps, KY, & Mark (Connie) Coleman of Delaware, OH; six grandchildren: Jordon Coleman, Michael Coleman, Alyssa Coleman, Kayla Coleman, McKenna Coleman, & Hayley Collins; one great grandchild: Aiden Coleman, a host of nieces & nephews, family and friends and his little dog, Bobby.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Primitive Baptist Elders: Jimmy Lee Smith & Jeff Dotson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery, Abes Branch, Phelps, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 P.M.
