Ada Jean (Scott) McCown

Ada Jean McCown of Chattaroy, W.V. was born October 08, 1945, a daughter of the late Anderson and Lilly Bell Scott, passed away September 18, 2021 at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.V.  Ada was 75 years old.  In addition to her parents, Ada is preceded in death by her husband Jim McCown and her son Anderson McCown.  One Brother Marshall Scott.    

Ada was a wonderful musician.  She loved to play the guitar and sing in their family band the Outdoor Plumbing Company.  She had a beautiful smile and voice and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

Ada leaves to honor her memory a son, Danny (Susan) McCown of Richmond, VA.  A special friend she loved like a son J.K. (Renee) Spence.  One Brother, Anderson (Jean) Scott Germantown, Tn. One sister, Rosetta Daiza, Orchard Lake, Mi.  Two Sister in laws, Janet McCown of McAndrews, Ky.  Della McCown (the late Ronald) Leake of North Port, Florida.  A host of nieces and nephews.

Four Grandchildren, Ricky (Rachel) McCown of Johnston, Iowa; Joshua Spradlin of Ashland, Ky; Amanda McCown (Joe Upton) Sevierville, Tn.  Jaqueline (Michael) Goodrich.    Three Great Grandchildren, Lucy, Tag and Arabella.    

Funeral Services will be Wednesday September 22, 2021 at 1:00 at the Jones and West Funeral home in Phelps, Kentucky.  Reverend Johnny Hatfield officiating.  Burial will be in the Scott Family Cemetery at Hardy, Ky.
