Helen Reba Dotson

Helen Reba (Bennett) Dotson passed away November 7th, 2020 at the Good Shepperd Community Nursing Center. She was 89 years of age.   She was born September 30, 1931 at Coal Wood, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Everett and Bertha (Hackney) Bennett .  She grew up in Freeburn, Kentucky. 

Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Dotson, who passed away September 12, 1987.  Also, one son, Jerry Joe Dotson who passed on February 03, 2014.  Four Grandbabies:  Dennis Lee Dotson Jr., Steven Dotson, Rita Marie Dotson and Michael Compton.  Two Brothers:  Millard Bennett and Everett Bennett Jr.

Helen married her husband James E. Dotson April 10, 1945.

She loved to play bingo and enjoyed seeing her family and spending time with them.  She loved helping anyone that she could!  

Helen had 6 children left to cherish her memory:  Sue (late George) Compton of Phelps, Ky.  Dennis (late Clara “Sam”) Dotson of Majestic, Ky.  Billy (Mitzie) Dotson of Majestic, Ky.  Joyce (late Wheeler) Blankenship of Majestic, Ky.  Carl (Donna) Dotson of Majestic, Ky.  Bonnie Daniels of Majestic, Ky.  One Daughter in law: Patricia (late Jerry) Dotson of Majestic, Ky.

She had 5 sisters, Wilma (late Allory) Mason, of Cumberland, Tn. Thelma “Sissy” (late Kenneth) Reese of Columbus, Oh.  Pauline (late Worley) Prater of Majestic, Ky.  Betty Lou (Lonnie) Daugherty, of Phelps, Ky.  Margie (Ronnie) Morrow of Nashville, Tn; Fifteen grandchildren: Carol (Kevin) Scott, Patty (Daniel) Ball, George (Anita) Compton, Shawn (Courtney) Compton, Dennis James (Dreama) Dotson, Chris (Tammy) Dotson, Clifford Dotson, Shane (Misty) Dotson, Janice (Luther) Hamilton, Benjamin (Stephanie) Blankenship, Marlena (Brandon) Osbourne, Curtis ( Justine) Dotson, Jamey Daniels, Heather Dotson and  Jeremy Dotson; 20 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 11, 2020 at Faith Tabernacle Church, Majestic, Ky with Reverend’s Charles Meek and Odis Blankenship officiating.

Burial will follow Buddy Mounts Cemetery, Majestic, Ky.

Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M. on Monday night. Tuesday at 6:00 with services at 7:00 P.M.
