William Fairbanks Hurley of Phelps KY passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 at his residence. He was born October 15, 1947 at Stopover, KY the son of the late William Taft and Josephine “Blankenship” Hurley. He was 73 years old.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Arlene Justice, Helen Fields, and Mary Mounts, a grandson: Jason Wolford and a best friend: Lee Young.
William was a coal miner who loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. He loved to fish and work on lawn mowers and small engines.
Survivors remaining to honor his memory include his loving wife: Sensuray “Coleman” Hurley, a daughter: Juanita Harndon (Dale), two brothers: Skinner Hurley of Majestic, KY, and Randy Hurley of Georgia, four sisters: Bonnie Justice of Freeburn, KY, Geneva Kobieluz of Wyoming, Della Mae Macavoy of Oregon, and Dorothy La Racque of Georgia, two grandchildren: Johnathan and Katie Wolford, three great grandchildren: Tayden, Easton, and Averyionna, three best friends: Barry Sullivan, Tracy Wolford, and Dale Staggs. He is also survived by a host of family neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY, Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with the Reverends Kenny Chapman and Charles Casey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dotson Cemetery, Phelps.
Visitation will begin Sunday and Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with special singing at 7:00 on Monday.
