Arnold Stump

Arnold Stump, 73, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Pikeville Medical Center.  He was born April 3, 1945 in Phelps, KY, a son of the late Tolbert and Jane Coleman Stump.  In addition to his parents, Arnold was also preceded in death by two brothers: Western & Lawrence Stump; four sisters: Geraldine Smith, Anna Jean Casey, Pauline Pugh, & Irene Smith.

Arnold was a former steel factory worker.  He enjoyed planting, trimming, & caring for trees.  He would work all day with them.  Arnold also enjoyed fishing when he was able.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter: Renee Stump; one brother: Alvin Stump of Homestead, FL; two sisters: Patsy Runyon of NC, Josephine Shimshack of PA; and host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the chapel of Jones & West Funeral Home, Phelps, KY.

Burial will follow in the Stump Family Cemetery with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 10:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
