Dallas Honaker, 85, of Phelps, KY, passed away on May 4, 2018, at his residence. He was born July 21, 1932 in Phelps, KY, a son of the late Archie & Rosie “Stiltner” Honaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Burl Coleman, Earl & Dewey Honaker; one sister: Patsy Honaker.
Dallas was an excellent diesel mechanic, having owned & operated the Ohio Valley Truck Service in Parkersburg, WV. Truck drivers would call him, and he could determine what was wrong with their trucks by listening to them over the phone. He also worked for Good Year Tire and Estes Transportation. Dallas enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical and enjoyed collecting & working on model cars. He enjoyed car races and enjoyed taking his family to races when he was able. Dallas was of the Christian faith.
Those left to his memory include his wife: Baby Honaker; three sons: Dallas Eli “Stevie” (Senta) Honaker of Parkersburg, WV, Heath (Bev) Honaker of Washington, WV, Michael David Honaker of Mineral Wells, WV; one daughter: Lisa Batten of Parkersburg, WV; three sisters: Glynnis Wright & Macy Blankenship of Columbus, OH, Maggie Honaker of CA, four grandchildren: Chrissy, Steven, Alicia, Christopher; seven great grandchildren: Julienna, Daelon, Keldin, Destiny, Alice, Riley, Ally; as well as a beloved family friend: Sharlene Belcher of Phelps, KY; and a host of family & friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Monday, May 7, 2018 in the chapel of the Jones & West Funeral Home, Phelps, KY with Reverend James Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the George Dotson Cemetery, Phelps, KY with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
