Larry Blankenship Obituary

Larry Dean Blankenship, 57, of Matewan, WV, passed away on January 10, 2019 at Trinity Healthcare Services, Williamson, WV.

Larry was born April 1, 1961 in South Williamson, KY, a son of the late Ben & Elsie “New” Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ben Blankenship, Gary Dean Blankenship, and one sister: Kathy Karen Ball.

Larry was a former coal truck driver and loved hunting & fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife: Janet Sue Blankenship of Matewan, WV; one brother: Tommy Blankenship of Freeburn, KY; two sisters: Eula (Noah) Wright of NC, Phyllis (Bob) Sminkey of Summersville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the chapel of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY with Reverend Will Compton officiating at 2:00 P.M.

Interment will take place later in the Varney Cemetery of Lynn, WV.
