Altson "AL" Wolford

Altson “AL” Wolford, 68, a resident of Phelps, Kentucky passed away peacefully at his residence on December 7th, 2024. 

Al was born in Williamson, WV, on November 10th, 1956, a cherished son of the late Jason Wolford & Ruth (Hall) Preece.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his brother, Herbert Wolford.

Al was a retired Coal Miner and adored spending time with his daughter and grandkids.  Al took the greatest pleasure in being a homebody in his later years and he enjoyed watching old classic movies and listening to old music.  He had a special love for his fur babies, Max and Tootie; He treasured their company by his bedside.

Those surviving Al includes his wife of 48 years, Tensie Layne of Phelps, KY; one daughter, Dorine (Michael) King of Stone, KY; a brother, Brian (Patty) Preece of NC; and a sister, Pamela Wolford of Paintsville, KY; grandchildren, Austin King of MN, and Kiana King of Stone, KY; and one great grandchild, Killian King of Stone, KY.

There are no services scheduled at this time.
