April West

April Leanne West, age 30 of Williamson, WV. departed this life on July 21, 2023, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born January  4, 1993 at Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of Donald and Dorothy “Sellards” West of Stone, KY.

Besides her parents, she is survived by siblings, Aiverly West of Williamson, WV., Aaliyah (Dalton) Hatfield of Blackberry, KY; her life partner, Chad Childress of Williamson, WV; nephews, Anderson Hatfield, and Brian Hatfield; stepdaughter, Destiny Kenner of Williamson, WV; best friend, Brittany Kenner of Williamson, WV, and her cat she loved like a child, Damien.

April was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dallas and Betty Sellards , and her paternal grandparents, Edgar and Mary Ellen West , and a grandson, Ryder Jace Wallace.

April was the manager for the South Williamson Taco Bell and had also been a cook for Rori Pies, Stone, KY.  Halloween was April’s favorite holiday & she always got an early start decorating.  She enjoyed Ghost Adventures, and one of her favorite T.V. shows was “Charmed”. She recently enjoyed attending a live concert of her favorite artist, “Lil’ Wayne”.  April was the sweetest , kindest soul.  She never met a stranger and was friends with everyone she ever met.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the McVeigh United Pentecostal Church, McVeigh, KY, with Donnie Akers & Joseph Crum officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV.

The family will begin receiving friends at 6:00PM at McVeigh United Pentecostal Church at McVeigh, KY. on Tuesday July 25, 2023.  Visitation will continue Wednesday evening with special services at 7:00 PM.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in April’s memory to Jones & West Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
