Billy Joe (Bo) Daniels

Billy Joe “Bo” Daniels, age 57,  of Freeburn, KY departed this life on November 1st, 2023, at Wolf Creek, in Pilgrim, KY.

Born May 23, 1966, in Pikeville, KY, a son of the late Sid Daniels and Tracy “Eldridge” Daniels. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded by his brothers, Ray, Adam, and Tennis Daniels, two sisters, Susan Daniels Smith and Christine Daniels and a nephew, Brady Smith.

Bo was of the Church of God faith and occasionally attended Barrenshea Church of God, recently becoming closer to God.  He enjoyed collecting antiques and was a NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Bo was prominent in his community, and he always looked forward to campaigning each year . Bo had a special love for his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Bo leaves to honor his memory, his significant other, Paula Blankenship; son, Jeremy (Morgan) Casey of Lenore, WV; daughters, Stacey (Drew) Ward of Maiden, NC and Rachel (Kyle) Welch of Bostic, NC; a brother, Lacy Daniels of NC; and sisters, Carla (Billy) Walsh of Knoxville, TN, and Shelby Ward of Freeburn, KY; aunt, Janice Abshire of Freeburn, KY; grandchildren, Kenadi and Halli Casey, River, Samuel and Jeb Ward, Zander, Josiah, and Atlee Welch. Bo also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

The family will receive friends at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, November 9th, 2023, at Barrenshea Church of God in Freeburn, KY with special services beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the church with Pastors Bobby Dale Wolford, Mikey Mounts, and Doug Maynard officiating. 

Interment will conclude at Freeburn Community Cemetery with friends and family serving as Pallbearers.
