Bonnie Jean Eldridge, 81, lifelong resident of Phelps, KY, transitioned to her heavenly home Sunday, May 19th, 2024.  Bonnie Jean was born October 25th, 1942, at Freeburn, KY, the beloved daughter of the late Ralph and Ida “Saunders” Rowe.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her siblings, Harold, James, Arnold Rowe, Rose & Bernice Barrett, Meroline McLemore, and one grandson, Drake Eldridge.

Bonnie Jean was of the Christian faith and enjoyed attending church when she was able.  She was a retired postmaster serving for more than 25 years.  She thoroughly enjoyed socializing, never meeting a stranger and always had a warm, friendly smile.  Bonnie Jean was a former member of the bowling league at the old Ten Pin Bowling Alley and the Matewan Women’s Club.  Bonnie Jean enjoyed attending the senior citizen center at Freeburn and building puzzles with her good friend, Betty Lou McCoy Blankenship.  In her spare time, Bonnie Jean loved going to the campground and playing a good game of cards.  Most of all, Bonnie Jean’s greatest joy came from the dedication and unwavering love she had for her family.  Her heart was complete when she was surrounded in their company.
