Darlene (Mullins) Compton

Darlene “Mullins” Compton, 70, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.  She was born April 25, 1949, in Edgarton, WV, a daughter of the late Elbert and Virgie (Murphy) Mullins.

In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by her husband: George Compton; one son: Marshall Compton; one daughter: Melissa Kay Compton; one brother: Elbert Mullins Jr.; and two sisters: Ruby Bledsoe & Irene Ratliff.

Darlene was of the Pentecostal faith, a wonderful people person and absolutely loved to talk.

Those left to honor her memory include one brother: Danny (Wilma) Mullins of Southgate, MI; two grandchildren: Bernie and Emily; a host of nieces and nephews, and her good friends: Barbara Coleman, Joyce Campbell, & Connie Mayhorn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Jones & West Funeral Chapel with Reverend Fon Chapman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Charles Family Cemetery in Phelps, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with special singing 7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Darlene’s memory may be made directly to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
