Debbie Varney, 56 of Kimper, Kentucky, passed away at her residence on May 18th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born at Thacker, W.V. on January 14th, 1970, the loving daughter of Dailene Scott and the late Ervin Scott.
Debbie was a devoted member of Octavia Freewill Baptist Church, a hardworking woman, and a faithful servant of God whose life was centered on love and dedication. She worked for many years at Kellogg’s Factory, always giving her best and putting others before herself. Above all, Debbie loved her children deeply, and they were the joy of her life. Her love and guidance will remain in their hearts forever.
Those surviving Debbie includes her husband, Leon Varney; loving son, Peyton (Megan) Varney; stepchildren, Evan (Kristin) Varney and Abby Varney; mother, Dailene Scott; one brother, Tommy (Jennifer) Scott; and one niece Jada (Caleb) Hernandez.
Debbie’s kindness, strength, and caring spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held nightly beginning Wednesday and Thursday, May 20th & 21st, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with services starting at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Dwayne Yates officiating at the Jones & West Funeral Home located at 37035 State Highway 194 East.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22nd, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the chapel.
Burial will follow at the Clarence & Ethel Ward Cemetery at Kimper, KY. Friends & family will serve as Pallbearers.
