Donnie Bowling

Donald “Donnie” Bowling of Phelps, KY passed away Friday December 18, 2020 at his residence. He was born February 15, 1946 in Pike County, KY the son of the late George and Geneva “Wolford” Bowling. He was 74 years old. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Gayle Bowling; a brother, Ronnie Bowling; and a sister, Linda Ferrell.

Donnie had worked as an electrician for Chisholm Coal Company.  He was a member of the Lord’s House & enjoyed visiting churches & singing.  Church was Donnie’s #1 thing he loved.  He also enjoyed cooking, had a big sense of humor & never met a stranger.  He loved his time with his children & family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Glenda Gayle “McCoy” Bowling; four sons, Chris (Bo) Regina Bowling of Belfry, KY, Robbie (Julie) Bowling of Lexington, KY, Steven (Norma) Bowling of Lexington, KY, David (Kathy) Bowling of Matewan, WV; one brother, Mitch (Juanita) Bowling of Phelps, KY; one sister, Leondria (Phillip) Hale of Paintsville, KY; eight grandchildren, Christina, Courtney, Josh, Aaron, Katie, Ashley, Jennifer, Ashley; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at12:00 noon Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Lord’s House with Reverends Chris Casey, Mitch Bowling, and Gerald Fields officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bowling Cemetery, Shades Branch of Phelps.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the church with special services at 7:00 P.M.
