Edmond “Eddie” Wolford, 74, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his residence. He was born February 10, 1947 in Phelps, a son of the late Earl Wolford, Catherine “Daugherty” Blankenship, and his late aunt Ellie Sowards who raised him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ernest, Billy, Raymond, Harold; one sister, Shirley Coleman; and one grandson, Mason Keith Duty.
Eddie had worked as a heavy equipment operator and loved his job doing land reclamation. He had also worked as a coal miner and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Eddie was a godly man who enjoyed reading the Bible every day. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and especially enjoyed spending time with family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Virginia Ann “Fields” Wolford; one son, Brian K. Wolford of Phelps, KY; daughters, Kimberly (Barry) Duty & Melissa Wolford, both of Phelps, Tessa (Matthew) Norman of Richmond, KY; four brothers, Lowell Blankenship of Roanoke, VA, Truson Blankenship of Phelps, KY, David Wolford & Earl Wolford, both of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Teresa Irick (Harold Adams) of Newtown, WV, Vanessa Mouser of Phelps, KY, Amber (David) McCracken of Pikeville, KY, Madison Duty & Alyson Duty, both of Majestic, KY; and six great grandchildren, Kaleb, Jakolby, Kinzer, Shyanne, Trey, & Raven. Eddie will also be remembered by a host of extended family & friends.
Private interment will be in the Wolford Family Cemetery at Phelps, KY.
