Erika Lynn Blankenship

Erika Lynn Blankenship 34, of Majestic, Kentucky, passed away June 12th, 2024, in Freeburn, Kentucky.   Erika was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on March 14th, 1990, a loving daughter of Brian Hegedus of Majestic, Kentucky and the late Debbie (Blankenship) Ferrell.

In addition to Erika’s mother, she was also preceded by her grandfather, Charlie Blankenship.

Erika was a 2008 graduate of Phelps High School.  While in high school, Erika was a phenomenal softball player.  She enjoyed sports and loved to draw and listen to music.  Erika was of the Christian Faith. 

Those surviving to cherish Erika’s memory include her dad, Brian Hegedus of Majestic, KY; her two sons, Landon and Charlie Barber of VA and their dad, Eddie Barber that she loved very much; brothers, Timothy Stevenson of Haysi, VA, and Robert (Misti) Hegedus of Pikeville, KY; sisters, Charitie (Brandon) Sneed of Phelps, KY, and Briana (Brandon) Dotson of Majestic, KY; grandmother, Mildred Blankenship.  Erika had close cousins that she looked to as brothers, Tyler and David Wolford, and Daniel Blankenship. 

Erika also leaves behind a host of cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that she adored.   

The family would like to welcome friends for visitation Wednesday, June 19th, 2024 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home located at 37035 State Highway 194 East in Phelps, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday in the chapel with Pastor Chris Casey officiating.

Interment will follow at the Blankenship Cemetery on Pond Fork at Kimper, Kentucky.
