Ervin Gregory Fields

Ervin Gregory Fields of Edgarton, WV passed away Sunday February 14, 2021 in Toledo, OH. He was born November 11, 1967 the son of Ervin A. and Diana “Griffith” Fields of Edgarton, WV. He was 53 years old.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Abe & Alpha Fields; and maternal grandparents: Roy & Evelne Griffith; stepdaughter, Linda M. Fields

Ervin was a retired coal miner having been a heavy equipment mechanic. He loved being around his family and had lots of friends. He enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers and was a member of the Hatfield McCoy Trails through which he had won several trophies. Ervin was also a member of the Phelps Freewill Baptist Church of Phelps, KY.

In addition to his parents, survivors remaining to honor his memory include his girlfriend, Karen Thompson, of Red Jacket, WV; daughter: Amy M. “Fields” (Rabon G.) Wolford of Louisa, KY, his sister: Rhonda Renee (Eugene) Hurley of Vulcan, WV, two grandchildren: Rabon Wolford “Little Rabon” and Jacob Wolford. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY with Pastors Bobby Dale Wolford, and Doug Maynard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Freeburn Community Cemetery of Freeburn, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Monday & Tuesday at the funeral home with services nightly at 7:00 P.M.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the funeral home & family requires face coverings be worn.
