Gary Estep

Gary Estep of Phelps, KY passed away Friday March 19, 2021 at his home. He was born February 19, 1956 in Pikeville, KY, the son of the late Doc and Mary “Mag” (Wolford) Estep. He was 65 years old.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother: Kelly Estep and a sister: Shirley Blankenship.

Gary was a coalminer who loved being outdoors and as he would say “Playing on the canvas God gave him”.

Survivors remaining to cherish his memory include a son: Brandon Keith Estep of McCarr, KY, a daughter: Tabitha Lynn Estep of White Pines, TN, three grandchildren: Peyton Garrett and Emily Ray both of Kodiak, TN and Deborah Estep of Georgetown, KY, two nephews: Paul Douglas Estep of Rutledge and Marvin Blankenship of Phelps. He is also survived by a host of neighbors and friends.

Funeral services will be held in the Jones & West Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday March 24, 2021 at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Larry Blackburn officiating.

Burial will follow in the Estep-Blankenship Cemetery of Jamboree Phelps, KY.

Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00 P.M. Tuesday evening.
