Geraldine (Smith) Blankenship

Geraldine Blankenship, 69 of Sevierville, formerly of Stopover, KY, passed away Sunday, July 2nd, 2023.  She was born in Woodman, KY on July 11th, 1953, and was  the daughter of the late Billard and Lucy Alice Smith.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her loving husband, Lester Blankenship; sister, Penny Campbell; and brother David Martin Smith. 

Geraldine was retired from the United States Postal Service and worked many years as a teacher’s aide with special needs children.  She also served as a caregiver for her family. 

Those surviving Geraldine includes a daughter, Leslie Pruitt of Sevierville, TN; sister, Evelyn Dotson; friends that she loved as her own children, Nancy Haun; Ericka Haun; Michael Birchett; Benny Stump; Mashanna Erwin, and Jonah Stump, as well as many friends.

The family would like to welcome friends Sunday, July 16th, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Phelps with special services starting at 7:00 P.M.  Funeral service will begin at 12:00 Noon Monday, July 17th, 2023, and interment will follow at the Blankenship Cemetery in Woodman, KY.
